LOCATION-After arriving at the train station, we were met with someone from the hotel who took our luggage & walked us to the hotel.
It is situated at the edge of the small town of Aguas Calientes but not too far from restaurants & the centre of town. The rooms are well appointed & lobby is cozy.
Based on limited observation, I dare to say it’s the nicest one in town.
STAFF-Check in was very personal. Instead of the staff sitting or standing behind the counter, we sat in the living room type lobby & got processed there. Naemi was very welcoming & assisted us with our requirements to get us up to Machu Piccu. She also got us connected with a private guide, Rodrigo Jaen Becerra. I highly recommend him based on his command of English, knowledge of the area & shortcuts here & there.
ROOM-we had a river view & the sound of the water rushing added to the overall ambiance. Plus it was nice just to watch hikers walking on their way to the citadel in the early morning up to mid-afternoon.
This may just be the nicest hotel I've stayed in - anywhere! It is a lovely hotel at the base of the mountain. Rooms are beautifully-appointed, beds are comfortable and we had a quiet and restful night's sleep. Service is outstanding as well. The hotel provides so many little extras. Our check-in included an invitation to sit on comfortable couches and enjoy a lemonade and small snack, while they came to us with an ipad to complete the check-in process. We left our room briefly to explore the area, and came back to find a beautifully arranged fruit tray waiting for us in our room. An attendant knocked on our door and asked us if we needed more towels (even though we had already been provided 2 per person), then offered us chocolates when we politely declined. Breakfast and dinner (with wine) were included in our overnight stay. Both were delicious. They even offered us a free cooking class, which we had no time for. (Machu Picchu awaited!) This was an outstanding hotel, definitely the best of the 5 hotels that we stayed in while traveling around Peru. More

I will start saying that the hotel is completely cute and well decorated, we were in a room overlooking the river and it was wonderful but what we stands out is the attention of the staff, they were very friendly, but I want to especially thank Sandra who had a special attention with me and my husband. I felt bad from Cusco and at 02:00 in the morning she came to give me oxygen, she helped me a lot and I was able to sleep peacefully, hours later when we went through the reception to go to breakfast (which is excellent) I wonder how worried she was about me, that we loved. Thank you very much Sandra, it was a wonderful experience. I will return with all my family More
