The Sumaq Hotel service and support were just amazing. Caroline met us at the train from Cusco and took care of our luggage and assured us that she would be waiting for our later arrive at the hotel after hiking Machu Picchu.
She was very helpful during our full stay making sure we had everything and more. She even arranged a private cooking lesson and pisco tasting! It was the best customer service that I have experience in all my hotel stays.
The hotel itself is very unique and some of the rooms are just marvelous with window whirlpool tubes and balconies overlooking the river and valley it could not have been better. More
Our family of 4 stayed here overnight during a 2 day visit to Machu Picchu. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely attentive making sure everything was perfect. But to top off their service, they even let us check back in at noon, after checking our for a sunrise hike, to get cleaned up before our journey back to Cusco. The shower and nap would’ve been worth paying for another night, but they did it at no charge. Our whole family says Thank you!!! More
This hotel is the perfect retreat after a long afternoon at Machu Picchu. We were immediately greeted by a welcome drink and then escorted to our “matrimonial” room and the kids had a nice room next door.
The pre dinner drinks were amazing and the dinner exceeded all expectations. The president of Peru had just been to the hotel a few days earlier and judging by the service I can understand why!
Even the breakfast we had at 5 am before our hike the next day was outstanding. The hotel took our bags and they were waiting on the train platform at 330 pm. All worked exceptionally well!
Thank you for providing such high quality service! More
While in Peru my boyfriend and I decided to stay in Aguas Calientes to maximize our time near Machu Picchu. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. A bit of a splurge but worth it. Our breakfast, cocktails, and dinner were all included in our stay. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to lend a helping hand. We even learned how to make pisco sours and ceviche before checking out. We cannot wait to go back and stay again!!
This may just be the nicest hotel I've stayed in - anywhere! It is a lovely hotel at the base of the mountain. Rooms are beautifully-appointed, beds are comfortable and we had a quiet and restful night's sleep. Service is outstanding as well. The hotel provides so many little extras. Our check-in included an invitation to sit on comfortable couches and enjoy a lemonade and small snack, while they came to us with an ipad to complete the check-in process. We left our room briefly to explore the area, and came back to find a beautifully arranged fruit tray waiting for us in our room. An attendant knocked on our door and asked us if we needed more towels (even though we had already been provided 2 per person), then offered us chocolates when we politely declined. Breakfast and dinner (with wine) were included in our overnight stay. Both were delicious. They even offered us a free cooking class, which we had no time for. (Machu Picchu awaited!) This was an outstanding hotel, definitely the best of the 5 hotels that we stayed in while traveling around Peru. More
