While in Peru my boyfriend and I decided to stay in Aguas Calientes to maximize our time near Machu Picchu. We couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. A bit of a splurge but worth it. Our breakfast, cocktails, and dinner were all included in our stay. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to lend a helping hand. We even learned how to make pisco sours and ceviche before checking out. We cannot wait to go back and stay again!!
This hotel being a 5 star we were there for 2 nights we were promised a pick up from the train station that never happened and had to find our way ourselves.
We arrived at the hotel had to wait for our room was then assigned the room which was very nice however the kitchen cooking smell seemed like it was coming through our vents
Wifi not working in the room and the train track were just out side our window and we could hear the thunder of each train passing through.
We also were quite disappointed with the service of just buying water from them as called and asked to get water but no one came. Even when I went Dow to the bar to get the bar tender was reluctant to sell me water.
On the positive the breakfast and dinner service was very good.
Would we return or recommend this hotel maybe not unless they improve on these aspect.
My wife and I spent one night here after a one day Inca trail hike. We really enjoyed our stay. They greet you with a refreshment at check in and brought our bags to the train station at check out. The shower was great and the bed was comfortable. We had a river view which was nice. You hear the roar of the river constantly which oddly sounds like the A/c is running. There is no A/C which wasn’t a huge deal and we called down to the front desk and they brought a fan with in minutes. We also had a great dinner that evening which was included. Breakfast was also offered and they provided a great spread. We also had a couples massage upon our arrival. The spa seemed very basic but it was clean and the massage was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting Machu Picchu.
This is a beautiful hotel in Aguas Calientes. My daughter and I arrived around 9:30 p.m., exhausted after a long day of hiking around the Sacred Valley. The hotel staff were accommodating and helpful. Our stay included dinner, so we ordered something off the menu and had it delivered to our room. I have to say the food was...ok. We ordered minestrone soup and it was nothing like any minestrone we've ever had before. I realize we were in Peru, where they don't "specialize" in minestrone, but it had a green base, large chunks of steak...just not what we'd envisioned or hoped for after that long day. The food is on the fancier side, more like nouvelle cuisine, and we just weren't feeling it that night. We got up early the next day to head up to Macchu Picchu, so we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel, but the beds and rooms were nice, and the staff were lovely. More
